Job Captain - Architectural Designer - Project Manager - [ Full Time]
The ideal candidate is confident in their architectural skills and construction knowledge, and is comfortable interfacing with all stakeholders, including: the principals of the firm, clients, designers, architects, builders, contractors, site superintendents, furniture vendors and suppliers. This is an invaluable opportunity for an experienced professional looking to spend more time in the field, less time on-desk in a corporate office, and have more direct ownership across the project lifecycle. This position is an essential part of the DBL team, working to bring their design visions to life from project start to completion, with the full support of an experienced team led by a licensed architect.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop schematic design, space plans, millwork drawings, pricing plans, as-builts and construction documentation packages that meet all contractual, code, and permitting requirements.
- Develop 3d Renderings and Presentations
- Attend [virtual and in-person] meetings with clients, State and local permitting authorities, subcontractors, and vendors regarding engineering.
- Identify and communicate deviations in the project scope.
- Review drawing packages created by third party engineering and architectural firms.
- Evaluate future technologies and vendors.
- Work with the Project management & Construction team to provide on-going support with design concepts and design optimization.
- Review submittals packages of subconsultants
- Support construction administration
- Conduct site visits and verification of field conditions
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS
- Commercial architectural design experience (drafting, specifications, finish selections) 3+ years minimum
- Working experience with REVIT and AutoCad
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Ability to identify opportunities, vet options, gain team and client consensus, and bring items to closure.
- Strong design sense to present practical solutions that are interesting, beautiful, and functional.
- Project management skills; ability to plan and organize work independently.
- Product selection experience – ability to research and recommend architectural based products to meet unique project design solutions in coordination with construction applications
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally (English) (Spanish a plus!)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing
- Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
- Must have a driver's license, your own car and reside in the Los Angeles Area.
