Job Summary:
The SignMaker is a professional, self-motivated team player with strong signage design and production experience responsible for fabricating all in-house projects, maintaining the shop and assisting with installs as time permits. This person needs to have excellent communication skills and experience producing signs using a wide-format printer, plotter and laminator. Experience with a laser cutter/ engraver is a nice plus. This person is detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced team environment and is able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Position is responsible for fabricating all and installing some in-house projects. He/she will work with Project Managers to ensure their projects are produced correctly.
- Print and fabricate signage made in-house using the HP 365 printer, Graphtec 9000 series plotter, Mimaki laminator and Flexi software.Will also fabricate signage using a Laguna CO2 Laser EX cutter.
- Help with signage installation, particularly with wall, window and vehicle wraps, dimensional letters and ADA/ Wayfinding signage.
- Help keep shop clean including keeping floor clean, storing tools and maintaining inventory neatly.
- Manage inventory of materials, supplies and tools in the shop area of the office.
Qualifications
- 5 years in the sign industry; know how to design and fabricate signage.
- Background in vinyl sign fabrication and application and large format digital printing.
- Experience designing signage using Adobe Design tool suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
- Experience with Corebridge, Flexi and Lightburn software is highly valued. Experience running some kind of ripping software required.
- Knowledgeable in color management.
- Able to work in a fast-moving work environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to work confidently and expertly with clients, subcontractors and vendors.
- Installation experience highly valued.
