Career Transitions, LLC is currently representing a steel fabrication company, in identifying a new Manufacturing Engineer for their operations in Madison Heights, MI. This Manufacturing Engineer will help the organization streamline processes and grow the organization’s capability and oversee the manufacturing processes, optimizing manufacturing engineering techniques, improving industrial engineering practices, utilizing mechanical engineering skills, and ensuring efficient machining operations.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
Responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
- Investigate and solve problems related to tooling, equipment, and processes.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements and workflow, designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Develop, recommend, and implement changes which will result in the improvement of manufacturing processes and or product quality.
- Assist the Process Line Manager in the development of capital and expense budgets.
- Evaluate new products and make recommendations relative to manufacturing feasibility.
- Train department personnel in safety, setup, operations and troubleshooting of existing and new equipment.
Manufacturing Engineer Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Technology or similar with at 3 years of applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.Other attributes of a successful candidate include:
- Hands-on practitioner. Strong problem solving and analytical abilities with excellent communication skills and able to operate in a team environment.
- Background and experience in an ISO 9001 environment.
- Experience with LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives, including 6S, TPM background.
- Excellent computer skills ( MS Office, Design software, ERP/MRP software, i.e. Epicor ).
- Experience in a tube mill operation helpful.
