We’re seeking a proactive Systems Engineer to be an integral part of our IT team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Director of IT Infrastructure to manage and optimize the credit union’s computing systems and platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing the core infrastructure that powers our business.
What You’ll Do:
- Administer and support our Microsoft 365 environment, VMware infrastructure, and both server and storage systems.
- Take ownership of troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new solutions to improve system efficiency.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their technical needs and deliver effective IT solutions.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
What You Bring:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration.
- Solid experience with Microsoft 365, VMware, and server/storage hardware and software, ideally within a financial services environment.
- An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or a comparable blend of education, experience, and certifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Self-driven and detail-oriented with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE)
- VMware (VCP/VCAP)
- Cisco certifications
