Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Superintendent to oversee their projects in the Asheville area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, particularly in Healthcare and Education sectors, and be skilled in managing all site operations to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to our exacting standards. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills, along with the ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA and company safety policies and promoting safety awareness.
- Monitor and coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct regular site meetings and communicate effectively with all team members, providing clear direction and resolving issues promptly.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and updates to project management software.
- Ensure quality control on all work performed on-site and proactively address potential issues before they escalate.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, with significant experience in Healthcare and Education projects.
- Proven track record of managing projects from start to finish, meeting quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage site teams effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize and multitask.
- Proficiency with project management software, MS Office Suite, and other construction-related applications.
- OSHA certification preferred, or willingness to obtain it.
