Assignment Details for Nuclear Medicine Technologist:
Job Responsibilities for Nuclear Medicine Technologist:
- The Nuclear Medicine technologist performs general diagnostic studies on all patient populations (neonate through geriatric) and exhibits superior levels of customer service.
- The Nuclear Medicine technologist effectively operates radiographic equipment to produce quality images in a variety of settings (Radiology Department and Imaging Center).
- The technologist explains procedures to the patient and answers any question the patient may have.
- The technologist demonstrates appropriate patient positioning, and obtains optimum views of specified anatomy.
- The technologist adjusts equipment control's and adjusts the radioactive dose for the particular study.
- The technologist demonstrates effective radiation safety practices and assists the Radiologist, when necessary.
- The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems on a daily basis.
Requirements and Qualifications for Nuclear Medicine Technologist:
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
- One year hospital experience preferred.
- ARRT
- BLS or able to successfully complete within the first 90 days of employment.
