Job Title: Color Lab Technician

The Color Lab Technician is a crucial member of our team, ensuring our textile products meet precise color specifications through meticulous color recipe development and testing. You will create and adjust color formulas using advanced data color software, ensuring each dyeing process achieves the desired hue. Collaborating with the dyehouse and quality assurance teams, you'll monitor production trends, validate color accuracy, and maintain comprehensive documentation. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong multitasking abilities, and a commitment to quality and safety. Responsibilities:
- Develop and adjust color formulas using data color software.
- Match colors accurately to customer specifications.
- Perform lab work for new color formulations and shade adjustments.
- Review and validate previous production jobs to ensure correct formulas.
- Monitor production trends and address any issues.
- Verify and analyze incoming dyes and chemicals for compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of color development activities.
- Facilitate color property testing with the testing lab.
- Maintain the company's library of color standards physically and electronically.
- Lead re-work processes and make necessary corrections.
- Perform entry-level office tasks such as filing, logging, and data entry in Excel.
- Ensure the dyehouse has all dyeing formulas needed for the next 24 hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, 4-year degree in Polymer/Color Chemistry preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for interpreting setup sheets and SOPs.
- Minimum of 3 years of color lab experience.
- Superior score on the Munsell 100 color competency test.
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and communication.
- Ability to work in both a team environment and independently.
