Job Description
Sunstates Security is seeking an experienced Director of Information Technology for our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. The Director of Information Technology will be a key member of senior leadership and will drive the business along with management over the entire IT department. As such, the position requires a leader with strong communication skills and experience driving process improvement and automation projects.
The Director of IT is responsible for the coordination of technology infrastructure, enterprise applications, 3rd party vendor management, including Managed Service Provider (MSP), and data connectivity throughout the company. It directs and manages IT-oriented strategic plans, policies, programs, technology support services, network communication, and business intelligence systems to accomplish business goals and objectives.

This role is based entirely in our corporate headquarters located in Raleigh, NC. Please note that it is not a remote position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recommends and develops short and long-term IT strategy and plans for systems implementation, IT service management and operations, capital and operating budgets, and staffing to accomplish business objectives.
- Develops technology playbooks to support inorganic growth activities such as data migrations, system consolidation, and user cutover
- Collaborates with the business to identify automation opportunities and executes effective solutions to drive efficiency and growth
- Develops, implements, and monitors IT systems policies, and controls to ensure data accuracy, information security, asset tracking control, and legal and regulatory compliance
- Develops, implements, and monitors policies and controls to assure project priority, technology use, and return on investment goals are being met throughout the organization.
- Coordinates the relationship with the company’s existing MSP and evaluates additional technology vendors that should be considered as partners to support management of the technology stack
- Responsible for evaluating, procuring, and maintaining all technology hardware and software and other products and supplies necessary to keep data, voice, and security, systems operable
- Develops, maintains, and oversees backup and disaster recovery (DR)/business continuity plans (BCP). Manages institutional risk related to data storage and security
- Directly supervises 3 employees in the IT Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and career development of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven IT leadership, system implementations, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Minimum ten years of experience working as an IT professional (consulting or industry).
- Effectively sets goals, manages projects and project teams, and analyzes results.
- Professional, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field.
- Experience in the manned security services industry is preferred, but not required.
