Job Description:
The Superintendent will oversee all aspects of on-site management for restaurant construction projects, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of the unique requirements of building restaurants, from site preparation to final inspections. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations on the construction site, ensuring project goals are met.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
- Monitor project progress, schedules, and budgets, making adjustments as necessary to keep the project on track.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality control procedures.
- Conduct site inspections to maintain high standards of quality and address any issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure clear communication and resolve any project challenges.
- Prepare and maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and site documentation.
- Manage material deliveries and ensure that all materials meet project specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the construction process.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, with a focus on restaurant or commercial construction.
- Proven experience managing restaurant build-outs, including knowledge of kitchen installations, restaurant-specific MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) requirements, and code compliance.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage subcontractors and on-site personnel.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- OSHA certification is preferred.
