This position is a part of our Young Professionals Program for Coesia in North America. The YPP initiative is an accelerated program designed to target a population of junior professionals, fresh out of college or less than 18 months of working experience, that have shown high potential through schooling and projects with current and previous work/projects. This is a 2-year program where you will be hired into this Robotics Project Engineer role within Flexlink in year one and will conduct a job rotation during year two. The final phase will be a trip to Coesia’s global headquarters in Bologna, Italy to collaborate, learn, and debrief with other YPP participants.
About the Role
As a member of the robotics team at Flexlink, this role joins a multidisciplinary team consisting of controls, project, and application engineers dedicated to finding the best robotic solution to solve our customer challenges. The Robotics Project Engineer processes customer application information and performs engineering calculations to assure the solution performs to contract requirements for projects; design and maintain updated layouts and BOM of the solution proposal, design end of arm tooling within budget and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
What You Need to Be Successful
Main tasks
- Mechanical layout design engineering.
- Generation of fabrication drawings for designed parts.
- Generation of assembly drawings and instructions.
- Parts ordering.
- Technical support for sales and quotes.
- Travel as required for pre-sales meetings and to accomplish testing, acceptance, and support of Flexlink supplied systems.
Knowledge
- 2D/3D modelling (Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor), Solidworks is a plus.
- Understanding Finite Element Analysis is a plus.
- Basic pneumatics knowledge for component selection and sizing.
- Basic robotics functionality knowledge.
- Solid understanding of industrial design and fabrication techniques.
- Solid understanding of industrial machine safety (ANSI B11 and ANSI / RIA R15.06).
- Fluent English, spoken and written.
- Mechanical Engineering/Technology degree (AS degree with equivalent/relevant experience is acceptable).
