Job Description:
As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting students’ social, emotional, and academic success. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students facing various challenges and to create a positive school climate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop individualized support plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with emotional or behavioral issues.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement interventions and support strategies.
- Facilitate communication between school, families, and community resources.
- Advocate for students’ rights and needs within the school system.
- Participate in crisis intervention and support as necessary.
- Provide training and workshops for staff and parents on social-emotional learning and mental health awareness.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a school social worker.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and mental health issues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
