Boston Based. Oncology/Cancer. Senior Medical Director position open (home based if outside of MA). MD required. Both Early and Late Stage Clinical Development positions open (2x positions). commercialised product and deep multi-program oncology portfolio.
Currently working with a biotech based in Boston, MA who have 3 offices globally, a diverse pipeline (onco focused) who need motivated Clinical Developers to support either their early stage (IND-Phase I) or their late stage (II-III).
Below is a snapshot of the responsibilities. Naturally this will differ depending on which program/stage of life-cycle.
Role Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in shaping and executing clinical development plans that align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Provide input in the creation of clinical trial protocols, defining study endpoints, and determining patient eligibility criteria.
- Partner with internal teams to analyze and interpret trial data, offering insights and recommendations for upcoming development phases.
- Report directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), offering hands-on support for key decision-making.
- Assist the CMO, CRO, and other stakeholders with essential tasks like Medical Monitoring, ensuring smooth daily operations for clinical research.
- Oversee clinical trial execution from an operational perspective, including protocol design, investigator selection, and study monitoring activities.
- Aid in drafting and reviewing critical clinical documents such as IND applications, investigator brochures, and regulatory filings.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams—like translational research, medical affairs, and regulatory affairs—to ensure strategic alignment and clear communication across departments.
Qualifications:
- MD required. (Note - a board certification or specialisation is not needed)
- Essential: Previous clinical trial experience within oncology
- Essential: Previous work in medical monitoring, clinical development or investigator work. A pure Clin Ops or Translational background will not work.
- Essential: Some industry experience (Biotech/Pharma preferred but open to CRO work).
- Essential: Positive and team-player attitude. Highly oncology/science driven.
The offer:
- $310,000 to $350,000 base salary.
- Bonus + Additionals on top.

- If near Boston, 2 days office expectation. If not in MA, then 1-2 days a month for important meetings.
