Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled RF Engineer with 5-7 years of experience to contribute to the RF design of our regional wireless network. This role focuses on design rather than system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project creation and task completion for network build plans.
- Create site design RFDS and complete plumbing diagrams.
- Utilize propagation tools (MapInfo, Google Earth, ATOLL) for candidate comparison, propagation, coverage review, zoning, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and submit E-911 filings.
- Determine regulatory coverage boundaries and manage FAA/FCC filings.
- Develop zoning justification packages and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with the real estate team to streamline site acquisition, leasing, and zoning processes.
- Conduct RFE analysis, generate reports, and ensure compliance with mitigation standards.
- Analyze post-activation sites for project and database accuracy.
- Identify automation opportunities and share insights with teams.
- Audit internal databases for accurate project implementation and reporting.

Knowledge & Skills:
- 4G and 5G network design and implementation.
- Understanding of antennas, RF engineering, transmission, reception, and propagation.
- Knowledge of band performance capabilities and limitations.
- Familiarity with 3GPP performance KPIs and their design impacts.
- Understanding of the effects of terrain and structures on signal propagation.
- Proficiency in topographical maps and digital terrain databases.
- Experience in antenna system design and installation for optimal coverage.
- Knowledge of macro and small cell design considerations.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Minimum of 5 years in the telecommunications field.
