Job Summary:
The Deskside Technician Intern plays a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to employees at ABC. This position involves supporting end-users' IT needs, maintaining hardware and software, and ensuring seamless operations. The role requires interaction with users to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support:
• Provide hands-on technical support to employees within both facilities, resolving
hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Assist users with software installations, updates, and configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems, coordinating repairs or replacements
when necessary.
2. User Assistance:
• Offer on-site guidance and training to employees on using various software applications
and technological tools.
• Address user inquiries related to IT systems and applications, offering clear and concise
instructions to resolve issues.
3. Systems Maintenance:
• Conduct routine maintenance and updates on computers, printers, peripherals, and
other IT equipment.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, and equipment inventory for
both facilities.
• Generate reports on recurring issues, system performance, and equipment status for
review by the IT Supervisor.
5. Security and Compliance:
• Adhere to company policies and security protocols, ensuring compliance with data
protection regulations.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to safeguard company
data and systems.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with the IT team to execute IT projects, upgrades, and deployments.
• Communicate effectively with users, understanding their needs and providing timely
updates on issue resolution or system changes.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Deskside Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common
business applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical
information clearly.
