Position Overview - Role: Locum Tenens Physician, Internal Medicine
- Location: Near Pleasanton, CA
- Job Type: Full-time Locum Tenens, potential for long-term commitment
- Start Date: As soon as credentialed
- Duration: 6 months to 1 year, with possible extensions based on performance and facility needs
Schedule and Hours - Shift: Monday Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break
- No on-call requirements
- Flexible Options: Open to full-time or part-time arrangements, such as a few days per week
Position Highlights - Patient Demographics: Typical internal medicine population, primarily older adults with multiple comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, arthritis, cardiovascular issues)
- Patient Load: 12-18 patients per day, depending on complexity and new patient status
- Clinical Support: Supported by MAs, RNs, and an APP in the clinic for optimized patient care
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Facility uses Cerner for streamlined documentation and care coordination
Requirements - Board Certification: Required in Internal Medicine (Geriatric experience is a plus). Board-Certified Family Medicine physicians with strong IM experience will also be considered.
- Licensing: Active California medical license required at the time of submission
- BLS Certification: Required
- Background: Clean malpractice and background history preferred for a smooth credentialing process
Compensation and Benefits - Holiday Rate: 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for holiday hours
- Malpractice Insurance: Included
- Orientation: Paid at half the hourly rate for training beyond 8 hours
- Travel Allowances: Reimbursement options for mileage, airfare (capped), and lodging, per GSA guidelines, if needed
Key Qualifications - Experience: Previous experience in a locums or outpatient clinic setting highly beneficial
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and patient-centered care approach, especially for managing complex cases in a primary care setting
