Job Title: Building Automation Project Manager

Job Summary
We seek a skilled Building Automation Project Manager with a strong background in managing commercial mechanical construction projects focused on building automation systems. This role will oversee designing, installing, and commissioning advanced building controls for HVAC, lighting, and other mechanical systems. The ideal candidate has proven expertise in building automation and control systems, with the ability to lead projects from inception to completion while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end building automation projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Oversee installing and integrating building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC, lighting, and energy management solutions.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and technicians to ensure system designs are aligned with project specifications and operational requirements.
- Perform commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of BAS systems such as Tridium Niagara, ALC, Johnson Controls Metasys, and BACnet systems.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, reports, and AutoCAD drawings for effective communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building automation project management, with a stable work history.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio for project design and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of BACnet, DDC controls, and hands-on experience with systems like Tridium Niagara, ALC, Alerton, and Johnson Controls Metasys.
- An EIT or PE license is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work effectively with project teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with additional control systems such as Schneider Electric, Distech, or other industry-leading platforms.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and resolve technical challenges.
- Local candidates preferred a stable work history in the San Diego area.
