Rydberg Technologies is seeking a dynamic Physicist or Applied Physicist with a background in AMO physics and engineering to join our quantum RD&E team in the development of next-generation quantum technologies. This is a hands-on role responsible for the development and engineering of quantum devices, experimental research and development of atomic sensors, atomic clocks, Rydberg atom quantum technologies, methods and devices including quantum RF sensors and transceivers. We seek high-caliber candidates who are solution-oriented, organized, self-motivated, have an interest in top-level project planning, give attention to the finest project details, and have the ability to both work autonomously and in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
Technical skills and experience: Atom-based quantum technologies, atomic sensors, atomic clocks, AMO quantum physics research, development, and engineering, precision spectroscopy, vapor cell technology, optomechanical and optoelectrical systems engineering, frequency-stable lasers, ultra-stable cavities, optical frequency combs, atomic and optical laser stabilization, analog and digital electronics, advanced programming (Python, C/C++) and signal processing, high proficiency in engineering design (SolidWorks) and simulation (COMSOL).
Other technical skills: Atomic spectroscopy, Rydberg atom spectroscopy, atomic vapors, cold atoms, vapor cell engineering, integrated atom-photonics, RF test and measurement.
Qualifications: PhD in atomic, optical, quantum physics, applied physics and engineering, or similar; US citizens or green card holders may be given priority due to export controls.
