We are looking for a Sr. Network Engineer who has experience in networking, systems and security engineering. This individual will play a critical role in managing, securing, and optimizing our corporate network, server, endpoint, and cloud environments. Responsibilities will encompass both advanced network engineering tasks and cybersecurity posture of the Employee Tech stack, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our IT infrastructure and employee data. Our team is responsible for maintaining the current systems and network infrastructure supporting our existing multi-site topology, and is involved in our expansion to new locations and cloud providers. We deliver excellent customer service, outstanding employee experience and leading edge technology solutions for approximately 7,000 users across multiple office locations.
The Impact You Will Make
- Design, recommend and implement network systems both on-prem and in the cloud.
- Oversee day-to-day administrative activities to maintain network infrastructure systems.
- Identify and recommend areas of improvement to configuration, design, process and documentation.
- Interact with employees to understand the way they perform work, and seek creative ways to improve our workflows with technology.
- Work with members in various offices to ensure that projects and priorities are aligned, coordinated, and prioritized.
- Contribute to improving internal tools and automation to make maintaining production services easier, safer and more robust.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve cloud, virtual and physical network & security issues while identifying areas of improvement to rectify any deficiencies or enhance performance.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze system requirements and system interdependencies.
- Disaster Recovery / Disaster Resiliency: Ensure planned testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
- Remain current on new technologies and evaluate for value and improvements.
- Manage and deploy monitoring to ensure availability of network and systems.
- Manage network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing programs of the Employee Tech stack.
- Partner with Cybersecurity to select, deploy and maintain security tooling.
- Implement and maintain proactive security controls to mitigate cyber threats for the Employee Tech stack.
- Respond to security incidents and participate in incident response procedures.
- Stay informed on the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years experience with network switch technologies such as Cisco and Aruba networks
- 5+ years experience managing border security and firewalls.
- 5+ years experience with wireless technologies, spectrum analysis, encryption, and authentication.
- 5+ years working in and maintaining a cloud and hybrid virtual infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience with security and authentication protocols (SAML, LDAP, etc.).
- Familiarity with network and cloud security principles and practices.
- Experience with security tooling and processes related to vulnerability management.
- Apply cybersecurity functions (e.g., encryption, access control, and identity management) to reduce exploitation opportunities.
- Experience with network protocols and routing and troubleshooting utilizing various capture and analysis tools.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and theories.
- Knowledge of Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) Infrastructure solutions like Zscaler and Cloudflare.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec VPN tunnel configuration and troubleshooting (IKE1/IKE2), SNMP.
- Experience with major cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Compute/Containers, Storage, etc.
- Technical writing, documentation, clear communication skills
- Virtualization concepts, and storage technologies that often support it (VMware, AHV, vMotion, NetApp and Dell EMC).
- Understanding of distributed systems.
- Track record of sound judgment, problem-solving, decision making, organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of the organization, from peers to management and executives.
- Experience working with virtual/remote staff members.
