Overview:
We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to handle the maintenance and operational demands of our client's facility. The role includes responding to user requests, setting up audiovisual equipment, managing furniture arrangements, maintaining the facility grounds, and assisting with repairs and preventive maintenance of various systems. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, be safety-conscious, and be able to work independently and within a team.
Hourly pay range: $25 - $26.50/hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible.
Duration expected: 4 - 6 months
Location: Parsippany, New Jersey
Facilities Maintenance Technician Duties:
- Respond to and complete service requests related to the setup of conference rooms, audiovisual equipment, and furniture for meetings or events.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the building and grounds.
- Restock paper and other supplies in designated areas on a daily basis.
- Handle personnel and equipment relocations as needed.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and general facility equipment.
- Use power tools, electronic testing equipment, and the Building Management System (BMS) to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Provide daily reports on work order status, material usage, and tasks to the Facilities Dispatcher.
- Manage parts inventory and order materials as necessary.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols and report any hazards, incidents, or injuries.
- Test and inspect emergency systems to meet regulatory standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA).
- Support corporate sustainability initiatives through facilities activities.
Facilities Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma with technical or vocational training.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic project management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and customer service-oriented.
- Experience with PLC systems, electronic testing equipment, hand and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and maintenance manuals.
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop a team atmosphere.
- Experience using material-handling equipment such as forklifts and hand pallet trucks.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus but not required.
