We are looking to hire an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer located in the Central Florida area for our structural forensics team. This position is hybrid, requiring at least one day a week in our Lakeland office until the candidate is up to speed, whereupon they can work remotely if desired. The position requires travel throughout Florida multiple days per week.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree or greater in a Civil Engineering discipline
· Professional Engineer (PE) license in FL
· 1+ year(s) experience conducting structural forensic engineering investigations
· Ability to climb on roofs and traverse through attics and crawlspaces
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
· Ability to work independently or in a 2- or 3-person team
· Ability to ride/drive in vehicles multiple days per week throughout Florida, with occasional overnight stays
· Clean driving record and criminal history
Responsibilities
· Conduct on-site investigations to determine the cause of failures, damage, or defects to buildings and components
· Collect field data, photographs, measurements, etc
· Prepare technical reports and documentation to support investigation findings
· Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and others
· Provide testimony regarding your findings in depositions or trials
· Maintain a clean driving record and operate company vehicles responsibly during fieldwork
· Maintain a constant level of professionalism and decision making consistent with the Oath of an Engineer
· Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices in structural forensic engineering
