About You
We are seeking a dynamic and senior manager who has a passion for transportation and the technology platforms that reduce cost and increase efficiency and capacity across our supply chain.
The Manager, Logistics & Transportation Technology is responsible for the systems required for operation of the cooperative by managing a team of up to 25 associates responsible for the design, development, and deployment of our transportation management system (TMS).
The role’s mission is to drive actualization of solutions, engagement, technology, operational efficiencies and intelligence to achieve targeted business outcomes including growth and ROI. The role will support Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
Responsibilities
- Supports the planning, implementation, and optimization of transportation operations.
- Sets direction, guides action plans, and sets priorities for implementation of the TMS and related mission critical business and supply chain systems.
- Ensures that the transportation of goods and services is efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
- Leads a team of engineers, developers, and analysts to design and implement transportation management solutions across our on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Uses technology to optimize, grow, and provide insights on our transportation network.
- Develop and implement transportation strategies and policies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Enable technology to analyze and monitor transportation data and performance metrics, such as costs, service levels, delivery times, fuel consumption, and environmental impact.
- Provide and support the technology that can manage and optimize the transportation network, including selecting and negotiating with carriers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Ensure technology platforms enable compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Provide technology solutions and reporting to identify and resolve transportation issues and problems, such as delays, damages, or accidents.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in transportation management, such as automation, artificial intelligence, or blockchain.
- Responsible for partnering with >tech_ infrastructure, application, cybersecurity and business teams to understand and translate solution requirements to define capabilities for enterprise platforms
- Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and security of the TMS and related systems.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in transportation technology and related areas.
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in transportation management or a similar role.
- Prior experience with implementation of a TMS & or Supply Chain system platform(s).
- Prior experience managing a team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in transportation management software, such as Blue Yonder, Manhattan, SAP, or Oracle.
- Knowledge of transportation modes, methods, and regulations, such as trucking, rail, air, or ocean.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

- Customer service and customer satisfaction orientation.
- Grocery, CPG, and Wholesale experience is a plus
