Position Summary:
The ORT (On-Going Reliability Testing) Engineer is responsible for the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of the ORT requirements; leading and assisting cross-functional teams (facilities, test engineering, quality engineering, process engineering, NPI program management, customer, etc.) to implement ORT on new products as required.
Essential Functions:
Serves as the ORT representative in NPI (New Product Introduction) activities.
Responsible for planning, equipment procurement, equipment installation, test implementation, and work instructions for operations related to ORT.
Assists in the development and consistency of process and quality documents relating to ORT including, but not limited to: Process Flow Charts, FMEAs, Inspection Standards, Work Instructions, Packaging Standards and Visual Standards.
Reviews Lessons Learned data from similar products and processes prior to launch to avoid repeat issues.
Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions related to ORT activities.
Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, customer specifications, internal specification, electrical requirements or formulas, and confers with management or engineering staff to determine reliability standards.
Works with 3rd party vendors as necessary to quote, evaluate, purchase, and monitor the procurement, construction, and installation of required infrastructure, including but not limited to electrical infrastructure, thermal chambers, test infrastructure, and IT infrastructure.
Works with test engineering to implement the ORT testing per customer and/or internal standards, ensures routing is in place in the system and adequate procedures are in place for smooth execution of the ORT.
Assists with disposition of materials which fail ORT, working with the customer, quality engineering, test engineering, process engineering, R&D and other departments as necessary.
Leads cross-functional team for corrective action efforts including root cause and countermeasure actions, using customer and Quanta required methodologies and formats (8D, 5-why, fishbone, etc.) as appropriate when ORT failures occur.
Responds to customer within required timeframes with detailed explanations and visits customer facilities as required.
Serves as continuous improvement leader for product and process lines; responsible for including kaizen events, six sigma projects and evaluation of employee suggestions.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of process capability.
Assists with plant ISO 9001 activities including internal auditing, calibration and document control.
Serves as document control coordinator (DCC).
Drafts Process Flows, Procedures, Work Instructions and Forms as required.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Experience with third party quality system certifications, ex. ISO 9001.
Certified as ISO 9001 internal auditor.

Computer literate in a Windows environment.
Strong written and spoken English skills; bilingual in Spanish/Mandarin a plus.
Self-motivated with ability to operate independently in multiple locations.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment; hearing protection as required.
Must have a Valid Passport or other documents allowing international travel.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach, stand/sit for prolonged periods, move about production and warehouse facilities.
Ability to travel occasionally; including internationally – travel required is minimal – less than 5%.
