Job Summary Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a compassionate, caring
Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider-Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Clinic APP to join an established, growing practice of 24 MDs and 20 APPs in Winston-Salem, NC to provide cardiac care to patients in the outpatient setting. We treat patients with heart defects, heart failure, peripheral artery disease and other cardiac conditions. We are recruiting a provider that is committed to the overall cardiac care of the people in our community and surrounding areas. This is a dedicated role within our expanding APP-led Atrial Fibrillation Clinic. Experience in Cardiology preferred.
No nights, holidays, or call required. This position will work 4 10-hour days.Our expert clinicians offer general cardiology, programs for women's heart health and care for complex or rare cardiac illness. They also provide the latest heart and vascular tests, and surgical and non-surgical treatment options - from prevention and medication management to pacemaker implantation, minimally invasive repairs, and open-heart surgery.
Winston-Salem has 2 minor league baseball teams (The Winston-Salem Dash, The Greensboro Grasshoppers) and a team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a partner of Major League Baseball, The High Point Rockers. We have college football (Wake Forest), several local wineries, and a large art community (theater, ballet). We are 2 hours north of Charlotte, 2 hours to the east of the North Carolina Mountains, Asheville is less than 2 hours to the Southwest and Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill are about 2 hours to the east where you can catch some good basketball and larger concerts. We are within 4 hours of the North Carolina beaches and less than 3 hours to Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, a popular summer destination. We have an international airport in Greensboro and Charlotte.

Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master's NP program required.
Experience: One to three years of experience in Cardiology preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, BLS, DEA registry required.
Responsibilities: - Patient assessments: Conduct independent, comprehensive evaluations for new and follow up patients with atrial fibrillation and/or flutter.
- Diagnosis & Treatment: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for atrial fibrillation and/or atrial flutter. This role will require a familiarity with ordering cardiac procedures including but not limited to TEE/cardioversions and ablations.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families about atrial arrhythmias, individualized treatment options and their associated risks/benefits, and lifestyle changes to improve health outcomes.
- Collaboration: work closely with office staff as well as our group of supportive electrophysiologists to establish treatment plans, coordinate patient care, and optimize patient outcomes.
- Follow-Up Care: Monitor patient progress through follow-up visits, provide adjustments to treatment plans, and manage post-operative complications/concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Research & Quality Improvement: Assist with facilitation of clinical research conducted by our electrophysiologists and quality improvement initiatives related to atrial fibrillation/flutter.
