The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care.
He/She applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
The Registered Nurse must process good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, peers, patients and families.
He/She works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure quality care is delivered.
Essential Functions
Providing nursing care appropriate to the condition and needs of the patient.
Consulting and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide care to the patients.
Establishing, reviewing, revising and following the patient plan of care.
Administering medications and treatments within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
Recording patient care activities including assessment, reassessment, and ongoing treatment notes within the patients medical record.
Using a variety of computer systems.
Operating medical equipment used in the care of the patient.
Providing patient and family education related to treatment, diagnosis, medications, discharge and self-care.
Providing patient care following nursing standards of care in a manner that promotes excellent outcomes, avoids harm to patients, and promotes heath and healing.
The ability and willingness to follow established Standards of Performance.
Call is required.
While performing this job, occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.
Reports to the OR/ICU Director.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Associates or Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
Required Skills
Must possess strong computer skills and have the ability to work with multiple computer systems.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Licenses
Must possess an active RN license in the state of TN or hold a compact State RN license with the intent to obtain a TN RN license within 30 days of hire.
Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class within 1 year of hire.
Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English.
Must be able to operate standard patient care equipment for services provided.
Must possess the ability to work under pressure, to adapt quickly in changing situations, to function dependently and independently and to be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of settings.
