Optim Environmental Resources, Inc. is currently seeking a Project Manager Level Environmental Engineer focused on air quality compliance to join our team. We are a small, employee -owned, consulting company located in West Chester, Ohio. A successful candidate should have experience in air emissions engineering and Federal and State regulatory knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental regulatory air compliance audits, prepare permit-to-install and permit to operate applications for air contaminant sources, characterize air emission sources and develop comprehensive air emission inventory database for various industrial and commercial processes such as foundries, painting operations, and landfills.
- Prepare Title V permit applications as required under the Clean Air Act (CAA), primarily in the states of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. Conduct air dispersion modeling studies, control technology studies for preparation of prevention of significant deterioration (PSD), and new source review (NSR) permits. Conduct regulatory review and develop compliance plans, develop risk management plans for chemical emergencies, develop toxic release estimates as required under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), review laboratory data and perform statistical data analysis, develop approaches to evaluate air impacts associated with hazardous waste sites, including site visits.
- Minimal travel to states such as Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia (travel duration approximately 2-3 days, every 6 months).
- Interaction with local, state, and federal agencies for permit reviews and regulatory interpretation.
Qualifications
- BS in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related engineering degree (MS a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of air quality dispersion models is a plus
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in environmental regulatory compliance with some experience in air regulatory compliance

Compensation
Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation
Employee may be eligible for the company quarterly bonuses based upon company and individual performance.
