Purpose of Position:
The purpose of the Residential Life Coordinator position at the Evansville Rescue Mission is to create a supportive and structured living environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This role focuses on fostering a sense of community, dignity, and personal growth among residents, while promoting stability and positive life choices. The RLC should be someone who takes initiative, can multi-task, and is able to manage a large caseload. The RLC provides assessments, assignments, and accountabilities to families in our program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with other departments through communication, reports, meetings, etc. to make sure all are working together in unity with the general purposes and goals of Evansville Rescue Mission. This includes informing the ED of the status of present ministries and future needs.
· Participate in the Women of Worth (WOW), Education Advisory, and Staff Chat meetings.
· Work with CWC staff on planning, updating or expanding policy, procedures and/or ministries.
· Orientation, scheduling, and ongoing training of Ministry Assignments of residents
· Conduct daily rounds in the shelter for cleanliness and order
· Assist in setting policy standards.
· Communicate maintenance needs to the ED
· Ensure accurate statistical data is gathered and reported as needed to meet agency requirements
· Work closely with ED to ensure safety and well-being of all shelter residents.
· Participate in agency and service provider visitations and community relationships.
· Contact service provider agencies and other community relations to promote the CWC.
· Provide referrals and resource information for residents to other agencies/ministries.
· Maintain the intake waitlist and call clients when rooms are available.
· Be accountable for expenditures to include paperwork and time sheets.
· Do enough actual hands-on participation in ministries to stay in touch with staff, programs, and residents’ needs. (i.e., classes, discipleship, or tutoring).
· Interact with other agencies for the purpose of joining forces to improve services to the homeless and to advocate on their behalf.
· Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Have a desire to serve as a ministry lead with a compassionate heart to those currently experiencing homelessness.
· Have a BA degree in Social Sciences/Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related fields and/or three years of experience in administration.
· Must have communication and organization skills with projects and people.
· Must have computer skills.
· Must have a committed relationship with Jesus Christ and belong to a body of believers.
