Summary:
The Project Manager leads critical initiatives across multi-functional departments, with a direct impact on operational efficiency and the company’s financial targets. This individual will be responsible for driving projects that span R&D, marketing, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, and logistics, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with business objectives. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing projects that support revenue goals, cost optimization, and operational KPIs.
The Project Manager balances strategic oversight with hands-on management in a fast-paced environment. The Project Manager will lead project planning activities, track progress (project meetings, timelines) and communicate progress/risk within the organization. The Project Manager will be involved with strategic issues at a department level and / or corporate level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-departmental projects with direct financial impact, ensuring alignment with company goals for cost reduction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
- Review current, establish new, and manage key manufacturing efficiency metrics, such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, and downtime, ensuring that these KPIs meet or exceed target thresholds.
- Work closely with senior executives (Sr Managers, Directors, VPs, and C-suite), providing regular, detailed updates and ensuring continuous project alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal departments to develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations, ensuring projects remain on time and within budget.
- Track and report on financial implications of project outcomes, directly contributing to the achievement of corporate profitability targets.
- Provide hands-on management of project teams, ensuring coordination between manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to minimize delays and maximize productivity.
- Utilize Tableau, Excel, and ERP systems (preferably Syspro) to track and analyze project performance, making data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.
- Serve as the main point of contact for cross-departmental initiatives, fostering collaboration among team members and ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term objectives.
- Identify project risks and bottlenecks, proactively developing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Lead post-project evaluations, analyzing lessons learned and recommending process improvements for future initiatives.
- Influence and guide multi-departmental personnel through strong leadership, motivating teams to meet project goals even in high-pressure situations.
- Ensure frequent, detailed communication with senior executives, including hands-on oversight and check-ins with senior executives, to ensure project progress aligns with company strategy.
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining high standards for quality and efficiency.
- Develops and manages project plans, including schedules, resourcing, budgeting, and communication to management.
- Actively evaluates project opportunities to improve performance.
- Plans for transitions of existing items to minimize impact on organization (achieve timelines, minimize waste, etc.)
- Analytical approach to new item launches / transitions. Verify sales projections, profitability, timing, etc. based on cross functional knowledge and comparable items/situations.
- Display thorough knowledge of product offerings, manufacturing configurations and capabilities.
- Escalates cross-functional support issues on projects to appropriate Management.
- Interface with manufacturing and R&D to launch new products.
- Serves as expert to the project team on overall product development process.
- Other responsibilities include recording meeting minutes, tracking action items, preparing meeting agendas, coordinating sub-team activities, and disseminating project information.

Qualifications:
- Experience in the dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industries.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement experience.
- The demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization is required.
- Past track record of handling multiple projects with varying scope and time horizons
- Self-starter with the ability to identify problems and implement solutions in a high-pressure environment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain environments. Proven experience with manufacturing efficiency metrics (OEE, yield, downtime, etc.).
- Expertise in project management tools, Tableau, Excel, and ERP systems (Syspro preferred).
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from cost generation through manufacturing and quality release to logistics.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior executives, including regular interactions with Vice Presidents.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
