Locum Tenens Opportunity: Internal Medicine - Cardiology Physician (Near Annapolis, MD)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine - Cardiology Physician for a locum tenens position near Annapolis, MD. Key Details:

- Shift Schedule:
- Call coverage only
- 1:6 hospital weekend coverage of General Cardiology
- No inpatient or outpatient duties outside of scheduled call
- Practice Setting:
- Inpatient only
- Focused on weekend coverage
- Patient Volume:
- Approximately 20 patients per shift
- EMR System: Epic
Job Responsibilities:
- Cardiology Care:
- Provide comprehensive cardiology care during weekend shifts.
- Manage patient admissions, rounding, and consultations within an inpatient setting.
- Focus on general cardiology with an emphasis on ensuring continuity of care during weekends.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide seamless care to patients.
- Engage with nursing staff, other physicians, and hospital administrators to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Credentialing and Privileges:
- Full credentialing and privileges must be obtained prior to starting.
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 90 days.
Certification and Licensing Requirements:
- Board Certification:
- Must be board-certified in Internal Medicine with a specialization in Cardiology.
- Fellowship in Cardiology is required.
- ACLS and BLS Certification: Required
- Maryland State License:
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of Maryland.
- Temporary privileges may be available to expedite the start date.
Additional Information:
- Holidays Observed: New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
- Hospital Privileges: Not required, but credentialing is mandatory
