We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Steward to join our investment banking team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong ability to analyze and resolve data quality issues. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our data assets, supporting our commitment to informed decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $130k - $145k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Data Quality Assurance: Review large datasets for accuracy and consistency, identifying and resolving data quality issues proactively.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and concerns, providing timely updates on data quality metrics and issues.
- Data Stewardship Strategy: Assist in the establishment, modification, and documentation of data stewardship strategies and initiatives to enhance data governance practices.
- User Feedback Management: Utilize user feedback, concerns, and questions to evaluate and identify data-related issues, coordinating and implementing corrections regularly.
- SQL Query Writing: Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting to support various business needs.
- Training and Development: Quickly grasp training concepts and apply them to improve data management practices within the organization.
- Time Management: Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Geographic Knowledge: Leverage good global geographic knowledge to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Independent Work: Demonstrate the ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
Requirements:
You are:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in trade operations/settlement within an investment banking context.
- Strong experience in data stewardship or related roles.
- Skills:
- Excellent command over English communication (both written and spoken).
- Logical reasoning and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on decision-making.
- Proficient in SQL for data analysis purposes.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
