Position Highlights:
- Student Loan Repayment: This position is eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.

Job Summary
- The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties.
- Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day to day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test result correlation and clinical laboratory related continuing education.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science is required from an accredited college or university.
License/Certification/Registration
- Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every three years thereafter is required.
- DOT Urine Drug Screen Collection certification is preferred.
- ASCP/NCA certification within 12 months of employment is preferred.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday Days: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
- Weekend Rotation once a month
- Occasional Holiday Rotation every 6th
- Call Time once a week
- Full Time; 72 hours every 2 weeks
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $27.50 - $ 41.50 per hour
