Position Summary:
The Fleet Safety and Compliance Manager, LT Corp Logistics is responsible for promoting the safe and efficient operations of the fleet. The Manager is the subject matter expert in DOT compliance, providing guidance and support to the team on compliance matters, overseeing the completion of internal audits and compliance reviews, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. The Manager is responsible for implementing and managing a safety program that effectively drives the company’s safety culture. The Manager is a critical role for the organization and is a member of the LT Corp Logistics leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage compliance and driver safety within all operational areas including truck inspections, medical certificates, licensing, driver log management, drug and alcohol testing, hours of service.
- Monitor compliance with Hours-of-Service regulations, ELD usage, pre/post trip inspections and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Manage and oversee auditing of driver logs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and handle DOT complaints under the FMSCR.
- Develop, implement, and manage the company driver safety program. Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits on tractors and trailers and support with safety manager as needed.
- Manage the LT Corp Logistics fleet of equipment used for transportation of tanks including tractors, trailers, and cranes, to ensure strict compliance of all local, state and federal regulations such as weight restrictions, permits, hazardous materials, and hours of service.
- Provide guidance to the Fleet Specialist in determining necessity, arranging for, and authorizing repairs of equipment in order to restore equipment back to a DOT compliant state.
- Participate in new driver orientation and on-boarding processes. Communicate with drivers regarding core safety principles and accident avoidance.
- Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure DOT required maintenance standards are met. Maintain safety files and records.
- Manage accident and insurance claims. Conduct post-accident and post-injury investigations; root cause analysis; and ensure proper completion of required documentation and reporting to the proper agencies. Oversee investigations and resolution of any violations.
- Review invoicing, monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets and compliant with contracts.
- Coordinate across the logistics team and operating companies to cultivate a team environment that leads to efficient and collaborative results. Develop and maintain positive relationships with providers that address delivery needs.

- Manage budget, analyze expenditures and review monthly financials to ensure budget is achieved.
- Maintain knowledge of current and pending regulatory compliance for logistics.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation working with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, Drug & Alcohol Regulations (including Parts 40, 199, & 382), and other Regulatory Guidance
- Knowledge and understanding of the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rules and regulations
- Experience working with the transportation of hazardous materials preferred
- Experience managing vendor partnerships with 3PL delivery providers preferred

Education and Certification Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.
Travel
- Periodic travel to company or vendor sites, approximately 30%.
