Ideally this position will be a full-time local attorney although we will consider candidates who would like a temporary reduced billable hour requirement. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of business immigration law, including, but not limited to H-1B, L-1, E-2, O-1, TN, PERM, priority worker petitions, and other employer-sponsored petitions and applications, consular practice, and marriage-based family immigration.
The applicant must have experience working with a clients in a variety of industries in obtaining and maintaining U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant status for employees and in designing and advising on immigration compliance systems. The candidate must have a strong academic record, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team, superior judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
Candidates should have an active bar license and US earned JD (no foreign LLM). This is on site position in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with ability to work from home 1-2 days a week. If you do not have connections to Pittsburgh and do not plan to move here, please do not apply.
As an Associate Immigration Attorney with our firm, you will:
- Train and manage a team of paralegals
- Oversee all aspects of preparing and filing non-immigrant (L, H, TN, O, E) and immigrant (PERM, I-130, EB1a, b & c, I-140, I-485) petitions and applications with government agencies and consulates
- Speak with clients on a daily basis to provide updates on cases and new developments
- Attend USCIS interviews at the Pittsburgh Field Office
- Stay current on business immigration law developments
- Advise clients on I-9 and E-Verify compliance and corporate immigration policies and strategies
- Counsel clients through the PERM labor certification process
- Build and develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues
