The Mailroom/Transponder Clerk will process incoming mail, either in paper or electronic form, within client service level requirements. The position will also be responsible for accurately entering transponder data into the Back-Office System (BOS) Application for effective fulfilling of customers’ purchase requests, along with other duties as assigned by Management.
This will be achieved by entering specific inventory information in the BOS Application, validating the inventory functionality, assigning transponders for the associated request, and packaging the transponder(s), supplies and Metro Express Lanes customer materials for mailing.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining great performance in sync with the department’s Key Performance Indicators and established goals.
Job Description Duties:
• Opening, prepping, and scanning mail.
• Prepping incoming electronic mail.
• Processing of Outbound Mail by means of various postal equipment including mail inserters, postage meters, and BOS application. Could include handling outgoing overnight packages.
• Enter accurate and complete inventory into BOS application.
• Fulfill daily customer requests with the corresponding supplies/materials in a precise manner.
• Identify and remove defective transponder(s) from inventory; box up warranty replacement transponder(s) for manufacture shipment.
• Receive, unload, check, and stock new transponder inventory, supplies, and customer materials as required (able to lift up to 50 pounds).
• Accurately perform physical inventory of all transponders, supplies, and customer materials as required.
• Operate mail machine for all outgoing and incoming mail.
• Fulfill customer purchase requests from the Special/Miscellaneous queue received by mail, fax, e-mail.
• Demonstrates consistent and strong performance in the areas of quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Ensure department Key Performance Indicators and Service Level is met for all back office operational activities.
• Combines knowledge of product, Business Rules, good work ethic, effective time management skills, and human relations skills to meet performance standards.
