The role…
The NMTC Accountant oversees accounting for the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program, ensuring compliance and providing financial insights.
This role will also support the site’s expansion project.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Responsible for accurate financial and compliance reporting for the NMTC project.
- Prepare and review financial statements related to NMTC project.
- Submit NMTC compliance reports to CDEs, investors, and other regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors for tax planning and preparation.
- Coordinate audits, providing documentation and reconciling NMTC-related accounts.
- Support project manager in other project related accounting and compliance reporting tasks (e.g. VEGI reporting).
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate NMTC accounting practices with overall organizational accounting policies.
What do you bring…
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 6+ years of professional experience in accounting roles.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in accounting or finance.
- Knowledge of NMTC regulations, federal tax laws, and accounting principles as a plus.
- Strong analytical, financial accounting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and accounting software
- (e.g. SAP, Lucanet).
