The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the hands-on oversight of a maintenance team that safely and efficiently supports a 24/7 manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, assigning, and overseeing day to day maintenance work, performing a variety of responsible duties related to the supervision of maintenance activities, as well as train, supervise, and evaluate the work of employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to identify, modify, adjust, and repair mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic parts and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or diagrams including blueprints, schematics, and mechanical renditions.
- Ability to utilize a variety of power tools, hand tools, gauging and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated ability to improve equipment reliability to minimize downtime, improve efficiencies, and produce a high-quality product to specification in a safe and efficient manner.
- Participate in purchasing maintenance materials and outside technical services in accordance with established company protocol and procedures.
- Assist in the establishment and implementation of systematic preventative maintenance program with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.
- Investigate equipment failures and unexpected breakdowns. Provide corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
- Monitor parts requests to ensure adequate inventory and cost efficiencies are being met according to departmental budget.
- Lead Maintenance related CI (continuous improvement) tasks reporting back to management with status updates.
- Facilitate selection of appropriate resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to minimize costs and assure on time and on budget completion.
- Ensure, enforce, and adhere to all legislative requirements.
- Constantly enhance the motivation and team-spirit of all operation staff.
- Minimize the risk of accidents and pollution.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts including electrical, mechanical and robotics system.
- Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in general math skills, including fractions and decimals.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat) and electric circuitry consisting of contactors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches and proximity sensors, preferred.
