Paper Mill Manufacturing Manager - Northeast
FPC Bangor is working with a paper manufacturer, looking for a Paper Mill Manufacturing Manager to provide leadership and drive safety. The successful candidate will also lead quality and production improvement initiatives by providing great technical knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive root cause solutions, variability reduction, process optimization and cost reduction while striving for operational excellence
- Deliver consistent expectations of safe working behaviors
- Accountable for overall performance of multiple paper machines pulp prep department
- Participate and lead initiatives to improve the overall quality and production performance
- Work closely with Team leaders and crews in developing or changing procedures to improve operations, cost management, quality and efficiency. Drive and promote world class performance.
- Lead machine outages and unscheduled downtime events
- Drive continuous improvement programs through process optimization and quality enhancements
- Develop standard operation procedures and process management systems throughout the paper manufacturing areas
- Assist in developing new products, includes: planning, coordination and execution of paper trials. Work as part of a cross-functional teams with Sales, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Sourcing, & Maintenance
- Work closely with suppliers on chemical trials to improve efficiency and reduce quality issues
- Lead by example to develop team based ways of working and promote core values of the company
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Paper Science is preferred.
- 10+ years’ paper mill experience with demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience is required
- Outstanding communication skills are essential. Must be able to lead a team towards in safety, quality and production
- Knowledge of paper machine maintenance protocols is highly preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project
- Must be eligible to work in the US
