Job Summary:
The Vice President of Capital Markets will lead efforts in sourcing debt and equity, managing investor relationships, and overseeing the company's investments. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing institutional joint ventures, and identifying strategies to optimize the performance of each investment. The VP of Capital Markets will provide strategic direction on the company's financial growth, mitigate risks, and enhance reporting accuracy. This individual will collaborate with all departments and report directly to the CFO.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to identify, raise, and close debt and equity sources, including private placements and institutional offerings.
- Oversee lender and investor reporting for both corporate and project-level investments.
- Collaborate with the Controller to manage the audit process required by institutional partnerships.
- Monitor and mitigate risk within each investment portfolio.
- Review and analyze monthly financial statements for projects and portfolios.
- Work closely with construction and property management teams to guide business plans, budgets, forecasts, and leases.
- Create and manage real estate portfolios to maximize yields and seek optimal risk-adjusted returns.
- Identify risks and opportunities for assets and implement strategies to maximize value.
- Manage cash flow, distribution analysis, and investment projections.
- Oversee the integration of acquired assets into the firm's ownership portfolio and track financial performance.
- Lead asset disposition and recapitalization processes.
- Provide creative financing solutions in strategic meetings.
- Manage internal financial and compliance reporting in collaboration with the accounting team.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in real estate finance or capital markets.
- Proven experience in raising capital with lenders or institutional investors and managing full investment cycles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with a focus on achieving results.
