An employment defense law firm in Northern California is seeking a skilled and dedicated Associate Attorney to join our team. This position offers remote capability, providing you with the flexibility to work from anywhere in California. Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in litigation and other legal proceedings concerning employment disputes and labor laws.
- Draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.
- Perform pretrial preparation, including depositions and witness preparation.
- Conduct research and analysis of complex legal issues related to employment law to advise clients or represent them in court.
- Advise employers regarding various aspects of employment law, such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination and harassment claims, and wrongful termination.
- Develop strong legal strategies to defend our clients' rights and interests in employment matters.
Requirements:
- J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
- Member in good standing with the California state bar.
- Proven experience in employment defense counsel in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- High proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal documents.
- Ability to understand and further client’s objectives in all facets of employment defense.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- You may be expected to attend occasional on-site meetings, as required by the organization.
