General Manager, Custom Plastic Extrusions

We are retained in a confidential and nation-wide search for a General Manager with significant experience in profile extrusion. By profile extrusion we mean window profiles, fence, custom profile or similar.

The ideal candidate we are looking for will be a hands-on and involved servant leader with deep and well-rounded experience in operations, engineering, customer contact, in the extruded products industry. You will run this business as if it were their own, responsible for all aspects of the business.

Responsibilities for General Manager

 The General Manager will assume responsibility for the entire operation, with responsibility for both growth and hands-on management of operations.

 The General Manager will be a hands-on participant in defining operational objectives and direction for this part of the company.

 Set objectives for sales growth and participate in the sales process.

 In conjunction with company executives and key managers, the General Manager will establish budgets and strategic plans to accomplish corporate objectives for growth and profitability.

 The General Manager will establish metrics for key areas of measurement and hold teams accountable to achieve or exceed these goals.

 Work closely with clients.

 Implement Lean Manufacturing and drive continuous improvement as a way of life in the operations, including constantly improving metrics in key areas.

 Manage the P&L, driving all operations to meet or exceed budgets and strategic plans.

 Ensure that employee safety is paramount in importance.

Qualifications for General Manager

 A BS degree is preferred, but all candidates will be considered who have the experience and skills to be successful in this role, even without a degree.

 Team based, or servant leadership management style.

 Safety and housekeeping has to be of paramount importance.

 5 years of experience in the profile extrusions such as window profiles, fence profiles, or custom profiles.

 Sufficient technical knowledge of rates, materials, tooling, and process to be able to communicate effectively with both employees and customers.

 Strong financial knowledge with strong budgeting skills, Proven P&L experience, and strong Strategic Planning experience.
