Job Title: Production Shift Supervisor Reports to: Assistant Plant Manager
Direct Reports: Hourly Associates Status: Exempt
Position Summary: Supervises all aspects of plant during the day shift and weekend operations for a 24 X 7 manufacturing facility (12-hour schedule with rotating days off). This position will also provide vacation relief for the night shift (graveyard) supervisors on an as needed basis. The position is responsible for actively managing the performance of people and processes in a manufacturing setting. Key performance areas include safety, quality overall equipment effectiveness, and operator productivity. Communicates all issues with the Department Managers, Plant Manager, HR Manager and Team Leaders as applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Enforces health, safety, and environmental regulations and adheres to SOPs and company practices/guidelines.
•Directs and coordinates the activities of associates engaged in all areas of the manufacturing plant.
•Communicates clearly, concisely, and consistently with Team Leads and Production Supervisors and Managers.
•Plans and establishes work assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
•Ensure that all operations are always running to standard with an eye to high quality and high capacity.
•Monitor the performance of associates and provides feedback and training.
•Coach and provide consistent application of associate relation policies.
•Oversees training of production personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently.
•Utilize automated timekeeping and HR systems for accurate accounting of work hours.
•Has the authority to review and approve vacations and time off, and/or process disciplinary action. Is responsible to correct and communicate in a timely manner to payroll all necessary information to process payroll.
•Prepares and conducts performance evaluations and issues disciplinary action.
•Coordinate maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and/or process improvement activities.
•Consistently enforces company policies.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•A.S. or B.S. degree in related field is highly preferred. (High School Diploma or GED required)
•Minimum Ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years related experience required; Supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
•Experience with developing, implementing, and documenting procedures.
•Must be computer proficient using Microsoft Office applications.
•Experience with WMS systems such as AS400 and SAP is preferred.
