Newport Springs Bottling is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to oversee our daily operations and ensure the efficiency of our business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management/supervision, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of productivity and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Directs supervisors (Production/Warehouse) and managers by communicating job expectations, including planning, monitoring, analyzing job results, and enforcing company policies, and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and oversee manufacturing/shipping plans and strategies including capacity planning regarding equipment, training, raw materials, packaging, systems, and general operations.
- Resolve logistics-related problems, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer service issues related to transportation and scheduling
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
- Assume most duties of the Plant Manager in his/her absence.
- Abide by all company policies and safety and operating procedures.
- Plan and facilitate meetings with supervisors and direct reports and work with HR to recruit, coach, and discipline employees.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications required to successfully perform the job include:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 5 years of supervisory/ managerial experience.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of food processing, quality assurance programs, GMPs, SQF, and HACCP.
- Logistics and transportation knowledge (not required but a plus)
- Ability to recognize problem situations and take appropriate resolution steps.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Must have proficient computer and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel skills.
- Knowledge of NetSuite program is a plus.
- Must be able to work in teams and be self-motivated.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform extensive walking/standing and lift up to 50 lbs.
