Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist Locums Job in Costal Massachusetts ASAPStart Date: End of October
Facility is seeking a Board Certified Child & Adolescent (C&A) Psychiatrist to join a Residential Treatment Program for Adolescents on a Part-time, interim basis. This role is ideal for candidates with 2-3 years of practice experience, particularly in Residential Programs, Inpatient, PHP, or IOP settings. Experience working with adolescents is required.
Details/Requirements: Oversee psychiatric care with a maximum caseload of 20 once the program is fully operational (initially starting with 10 beds, ramping up to 20)
Conduct Initial Psychiatric Evaluations (IPEs) within 24 hours of admission
Provide follow-up assessments at least once per week
Attend weekly Treatment Team Meetings
Serve as liaison with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and other treatment team members
Document patient encounters through weekly progress notes in the EMR and other encounters (e.g., safety assessments, phone calls with parents, medication consents)
Assist with utilization reviews and provide cross-coverage to Psychiatry team cases as needed
Maintain excellent communication with the clinical team, outpatient providers, and family members
Complete discharge recommendation assessments within 24 hours as part of collaborative discharge summaries
Work collaboratively with the treatment team, adhering to Physician Collaborative Agreements where applicable
Typical Stay: 30-90 days
Temporary Role: Part-time interim position, 1 day a week, approximately 10 hours a week (will increase as program expands and clients are added)
Local candidates are highly preferred
