In close partnership with the Senior Merchandiser, the Assistant Merchandiser plays a key role in the development of Women’s Denim product and execution of assortment strategies by maintaining strong cross-functional alignment, organization of samples and information, and execution of exclusives. Candidates must be proactive, detail oriented, highly organized, and excellent communicators.
Responsibilities include:
- Ownership of sampling- including organization, thorough knowledge of status and deviations, and overseeing distribution to showrooms to ensure adequate representation for market appointments.
- Facilitation of exclusive product requests in collaboration with the Senior merchandiser
- Maintenance of merchandising reports and customer-facing materials (style information log, development boards, JOOR, line sheets, etc.)
- Publishing development updates to internal teams and showrooms
- Preparing materials for major meetings and presentations
- Communicating action items from development meetings and workshops, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure they are resolved, and providing visibility to senior team members.
- Assisting with preparation for quarterly line reviews and sales meetings
- Conducting market research and preparing competitive shopping reports to validate merchandising strategies
- Training and delegating tasks to seasonal interns
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or other applicable focus
- 1-3 years of experience in Product Merchandising, Buying, or Product Development
- Proficiency in Excel
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to cross-functional teams and executive
Base Salary Range (DOE)
$45,000 - $50,000
