Job Title: Senior Manager, Research and Development.

Location: Greater Boston, MA.

Overview:

CM Medical are currently partnered with with a leader in food ingredients, who are seeking a Senior Manager of Research & Development (R&D) within the bakery and food ingredients sector. This role will be responsible for leading a team of three scientists, focusing on customer product development and delivering innovative bakery concepts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in baked goods, particularly in bread, and will be a strong leader who can guide junior and senior scientists alike.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage a team of three scientists (two senior, one junior), providing mentorship and leadership.
Product Development: Oversee the development of innovative bakery products and ingredient applications, collaborating closely with strategic customers to identify value propositions for commercial success.
Hands-On Applications: Work directly on bakery product applications, assisting in the development of concepts within the Innovation Center and ensuring a smooth transition from development to large-scale production.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with both industrial and ingredient-based clients to develop and enhance bakery solutions.
Innovation Focus: Lead the effort to elevate existing commercial bakery concepts and continuously raise the bar on product quality and innovation.

Qualifications:

12+ years of experience in bakery R&D, with specific expertise in bread and baked goods.
Proven track record of managing teams, with several years of experience leading junior and senior scientists.
Strong leadership skills.
Bachelor's degree in food science, bakery technology, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
Open to candidates with backgrounds in both industrial-scale production and ingredients-based R&D.
