Job Summary:
Ownership of the Converting Business Unit. Responsible for managing customer expectations through quoting, estimating and actively engaging with customers via drawing generation and detailed capability discussions, maintaining and improving the manufacturing operation of Converting to drive safety, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Key metrics include: zero lost time accidents, quality, North American and European sales growth, efficiency, on time delivery, and execution against targeted margins.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day production including capacity, safety, quality, productivity, yields, and delivery performance assuring safe implementation thereof and compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g. ISO, FDA, OSHA, EPA-DEP, etc.) and company procedures for Converting department.
Manage customer expectations in alignment with current converting capabilities.
Direct supervision of Process Engineering and Machine Operators.
Ensure all operational associates are fully oriented and trained; assure a safe work environment and that all practices are conducted in a safe and effective manner; manage with safety, associate well-being, and environmental practices as a priority.
Prioritize areas of operational focus to best meet business objectives and customer commitments; establish and audit divisional and function-specific metrics vs goals, implementing continuous improvement programs as needed to achieve goals.
Regularly monitor key metrics and communicate status versus goals; identify and implement continuous improvement actions as warranted; make identifiable and substantial contributions to continuous improvement of the process and product quality.
Coordinate and support product development as needed, assuring smooth and robust transition to commercial production to support top line sales growth.
Effectively communicate operational status within function as well as across division and company.
Participate in commercial, developmental, and prospective customer interactions as needed, including but not limited to audits.
Conduct all aspects of position in a professional, respectful manner consistent with AR Guiding Principles and the Corporate Quality Policy; embrace and champion 6S LEAN culture; organize personnel workspace and appearance consistent with corporate professional image.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Periodic travel to customers, suppliers, or sister companies.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably in coating and finishing technologies, including web processing.
Must be fluent in CAD, AutoCAD or SolidWorks and able to understand customer supplied drawings, preferably GD&T. Able to create process drawings to establish clear deliverables both internally and externally.

Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills to resolve equipment, component, scheduling, quality, safety, and personnel issues and concerns.
Relevant computer systems proficiency in a manufacturing environment as well as with standard desktop computer software applications.
Trained, experienced and proficient in application of statistical methodology in problem solving and process control optimization.
Trained and experienced in operational practices and systems with relevant certifications (e.g. APICS, LEAN, Six-Sigma, etc.).
