What you’ll do:
- Work on the Applied Research team to find solutions to complex modeling scenarios, and to properly document modeling approaches and results in our cloud framework (Atlas)
- Work with the team to build tailored apps that incorporate advanced solving technologies like optimization, machine learning, and discrete event simulation that will be used in a variety of ways.
- Resolve sophisticated issues around application performance, reliability,
- scalability, security, and data integrity.
- Work directly with clients to learn their critical performance indicators and look for optimization or simulationsolutions to drive performance improvement.
- Creatively analyze model structure, inputs and outputs, and results to identify problems and opportunities, working with clients to realize improvement potential.
- Uncover and pursue solutions that improve project quality, timing, cost, or results.
- Validate and improve data structures, build and models and follow-up scenarios, and work with the team to prepare client presentations.
- Help create and execute project plans and successful modeling strategies, working with a team of experienced project managers and account specialists to deliver results.
- Work with a team of highly qualified experts, solving diverse and fascinating problems combining operations research, statistics, and simulation
- Work with Fortune 500 companies and consulting partners on high-value, high-visibility projects
- Make real contributions to solving mission-critical and globally impactful problems.
- Design and maintain code architecture and coding best practices for core technology.
- Coach junior team members through projects – help with initial scope, build code scaffolding, answer questions, and ensure that thorough testing is done.
- Advocate for high standards in QA (streamline process, expand scope of testing with unit tests and/or integration tests)
- Act as subject matter expert for core technology within the company

- Influence roadmap creation and prioritization for core technology.
- Expand area of influence to several technologies and help manage dependencies, reduce redundant code, and spread best practices across teams.
Qualifications:
- Master’s / Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience with Python.
- 3+ years’ experience with C#, C++, or Java.
- Ability to implement decision making models and tools through the use of modeling languages (e.g. Python, R) and more traditional languages (Java, C#).
- Good communication skills with both technical and business audience.
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres).
- Ability to work through different ideas, breaking down requirements for
- delivering software frequently.
- Communication of what to build and ability to work with other developers.
- Ability to review code and assist teams in improving code quality.
- Familiarity with concepts in Optimization and/or Supply Chain Design (preferred but not required).
