Additional Information About the RoleSt. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Psychologist to join the team
Our mission is to improve children's behavioral health and quality of life through evidence-based care. We offer three types of clinical care for children, adolescents and their families. Our faculty members are also involved in research and training activities to advance the quality of children's health care.
Our pediatric psychology services are directed towards promoting quality of life for children with medical conditions and their families. Assessment and intervention services are provided to families on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Specialty areas include hematology & oncology, solid organ transplant, cardiology, neurology, pain, sleep, gastroenterology, diabetes and endocrinology, pulmonology, gender identity, adolescent medicine, rheumatology, allergy & immunology, and critical care and surgery. Research efforts of the pediatric psychologists have targeted identification of factors related to child and family adjustment to medical illness. Patients are commonly referred for issues such as:
- emotional or behavioral problems related to new or chronic illness
- improving adherence to medical regimens
- difficulty sleeping
- managing pain or other physical symptoms
- promoting family adjustment to life-altering medical conditions.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Child Psychologist
- Must have a Child Psychology Fellowship
- Must have completed a Child Psychology Internship

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose
Responsible for performing evaluations, assessments, psychotherapy and consultation during the course of treatment for patients and their families. Is an excellent resource to medical staff, educators, etc. in the hospital and outside community.
Responsibilities
Acts as a resource and liaison to hospital staff and outside community.Maintains designated targets for chart compliance and report turn around times.Conducts and disseminates research in field of expertise.Provides psychological clinical services to patients and their families.
