We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for our client in Monmouth County!
Our client is a family owned and operated business that has been in business for over 100 years! They specialize in bridge and highway construction, as well as services like milling, paving, and pipe work. They offer both commercial and residential services and are known for their work with heavy infrastructure projects!
The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in managing project execution alongside both field and project management teams. The goal is to deliver a safe, high-quality product within budget while maintaining strong customer relationships and improving profitability.The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. In order to be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills, and appropriately prioritizing those tasks' completion.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors, issuing contracts and purchase orders.
- Manage and submit working drawings, material questionnaires, and subcontractor approval requests.
- Ensure subcontractors submit required documents, including certified payrolls, workforce reports, and EEO forms, on time.
- Contribute to developing look-ahead schedules and updating monthly timelines.
- Review and approve timecards and daily reports from forepersons.
- Perform daily site visits, meeting with crews and subcontractors.
- Assess material requirements and coordinate delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- 1 - 3 years' of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manager
- Strong experience in AutoCAD, Primavera P6 is a plus and Microsoft Office Suite
- Specific experience with earthwork, utilities, and paving, and heavy civil construction is a plus.
