The Service Engineer – Electrical is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing gantries, robots, pallet handling systems, and ancillary equipment such as conveyors, part markers, vision systems, and buffering systems. This position involves working with a variety of systems, including controls, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and lubrication systems. The Service Engineer also provides ongoing maintenance, training, and technical support to customers, ensuring that Liebherr’s automation solutions perform optimally in diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission automation systems following documented protocols. Complete issue reporting, closing open issues, and obtaining customer sign-offs for issues and warranty start dates.
- Provide service to existing customers by diagnosing and repairing controls, electrical, mechanical, lubrication, and pneumatic systems for automation and ancillary equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks for customers, adhering to a structured preventive maintenance task list.
- Conduct electrical and operator training for customers using training manuals, providing both classroom and hands-on training as needed.
- Track delays during installations and interact with customers and Liebherr project managers to communicate progress and address open issues.
- Report hours and expenses in accordance with procedures and within required timeframes. Comply with all state, local, and customer safety requirements, including general safety protocols, Electrostatic Discharge (Arc-Flash) awareness, and Lock-out Tag-out procedures.
Qualifications:
- Two-year technical degree, accredited apprenticeship program, or equivalent in a technical field, with 3-5 years of experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering is preferred.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, with high proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Experience with industrial controls (PLC, NC, and HMI), with specific knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Fanuc CNC systems.
