My client is looking for Purchasing Manager in Albuquerque, NM.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and fostering a relationship with our suppliers and vendors in construction industry. You will also oversee the implementation of the supply and production strategies and warehousing for the company.
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
- Construction and industrial tools and equipment purchasing experience required, such as power tools, hand tools, fall protection, welding, cutting tools, PPE, jobsite storage, and material handling. High volume purchasing experience managing the purchasing of up to 50,000 SKUs
- Directs the purchase of all product lines, places purchase orders, oversees expediting and solves problems.
- Administers inventory control and re-order functions including the review of stock levels and transfers for all locations
- Maintains good relationships with vendor representatives and communicates regularly regarding shipping issues, warranty returns, new items, and price negotiations
- Contributes to inventory decisions and evaluates inventory reports, such as inventory levels to maintain at all locations, when to move stock into and out of locations, and what inventory mix to purchase.
- Experience managing a team
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- required: Construction equipment knowledge
- Strong negotiation skills
- 3 - 10 years' of purchasing experience
- Supervisory experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
